Integration of State Defense Values in the Higher Education Curriculum to Increase Anti-Corruption Awareness in Students

The incorporation of national defense values into higher education curricula serves as a strategic approach to shaping students’ integrity and fostering anti-corruption awareness. Core values, such as patriotism, responsibility, and national consciousness, play a crucial role in developing students’ sensitivity to corruption practices. This study aims to describe the concept of national defense values, the methods of their integration into curricula, and their impacts on students. A qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach was employed, utilizing references, articles, and journals related to the implementation of these values in higher education. The findings indicate that curricula enriched with national defense values significantly enhance students’ understanding of moral responsibility, discipline, and integrity, supporting anti-corruption initiatives. Additionally, this approach strengthens students' nationalism and encourages active participation in social activities. However, challenges such as limited teaching resources, resistance from students and faculty, and overloaded curricula hinder its implementation. Recommendations include reinforcing institutional policies, providing faculty training, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to optimize the adoption of national defense values in higher education curricula.
